VPS is happy to offer no-cost, virtual 15-minute consultations for potential clients hoping to learn or share more before scheduling an appointment. These can be arranged through our online booking platform. There is absolutely no expectation to book services after a no-cost consultation, and continuing as a client is also not guaranteed from this consultation. There are cases where Dr. Ellwood may learn something about your health or identity that makes her recommend you delay treatment, receive a different type of treatment, or presents a conflict of interest in her ability to be your provider.
All fees are set in accordance with the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia's (APNS) recommended rate for clinical psychology services.
Fees are not subject to HST/GST.
Diagnostic assessments for third party review (e.g. VAC mental health claim/pension assessment, etc.) typically require 2.5 hours of patient-facing time for psychometric testing and clinical interview, followed by 2 hours of report-writing. This generates an average total cost of $1125.00. Assessment costs may increase if the referral question requires review of additional information provided by either the Veteran or the referring party. This is paid by VAC if you have an active, eligible claim pending. Please ensure you indeed have an active, eligible claim by confirming directly with VAC before scheduling an assessment.
